Fuji Sports was founded in Canada by Frank Hatashita over 50 years ago on three principles: work hard, with experienced masters, and using the best equipment. Hatashita was one of Canada's leading judokas with over 100 clubs affiliated to his team so he felt the need to keep all members of his clubs supplied with high-quality uniforms (kimonos).
The company still operates to this day with Hatashita's daughter, Lia, as CEO. She is well-known for being a huge follower of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Fuji kimonos have been worn by thousands of practitioners, instructors and competitors alike for over half a century.
Sponsored athletes include Jimmy Pedro (two-time Olympic Judo champion), Royler Gracie (multiple-time world BJJ champion) and Ronda Rousey (MMA superstar) amongst others.
