Although Kingz Kimonos was launched in 2011, the man behind the brand, Bruno Munduruca, had been involved in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) apparel industry since before the year 2000.
At that time, he was a true pioneer, launching MMA Gear in Brazil, the first online store that sold BJJ kimonos and MMA gear outside of Brazil.
In fact, the founder of RoninWear was a customer in those early years, and the challenges in distribution—especially in the final years of MMA Gear—led to the idea that launching a store to provide these products directly from Spain to all of Europe would be a great opportunity, avoiding import issues and shipping problems from other continents.
MMA Gear officially shut down in 2005, and after working in different jobs for several years, Bruno decided to use his experience and industry connections to launch the BJJ brand Kingz Kimonos.
This decision helped the brand gain global recognition quickly, with sponsorship deals including some of the world's most renowned BJJ fighters, such as Andre Galvao, Leandro Lo, Mackenzie Dern, and Mica Galvao. Today, Kingz Kimonos is one of the leading BJJ brands worldwide.
In addition to its wide range of men's kimonos, the brand has also positioned itself strongly in the women's market, offering Kingz Kimonos for women.
Their designs are typically elegant, and they offer a large variety of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu kimonos, covering all price ranges and available in different weights.
Some of their most popular models include the Kingz Ultralight Kimono and the Kingz One.
Recently, the brand has also expanded into casual wear, obviously inspired by Jiu-Jitsu.
